Seiko save the ocean great white shark.

Seiko have really outdone themselves the dial is spectacular. This is my first seiko I have tags and omega and the Seiko is built just as nice as the higher tier brands. But this dial is something to be seen.

Spectacular Samurai

I recently purchased the SPRD23K Save The Ocean 'Great White'Samurai and I must say it's a spectacular watch.
The watch overall is visually stunning. The blue dial has a vibrant shimmer in the light, with a lit of depth and the embossed wave pattern giving off a silver sheen along the edges.
The bezel colour matches the dial perfectly, with the grey quarter complementing the blue well.
The bezel has a great tactile feel, it rotates smoothly without too much pressure needed, but is not loose at all and has no play in it. The ratchet sound is very satisfying to the ear.
The modern case design does a wonderful job at making the watch appear smaller than its measurements make it sound when you wear it. The deep angles really bring the lug to lug length down and make it sit perfectly on an average sized wrist.
The dial, chapter ring and bezel aligned perfectly (on mine), and the applied indexes look great, being easy to read without looking like they stick out too much or being gaudy.
The 4R35 movement is solid as always, the hacking and hand winding mean that it is extremely easy to correctly adjust the time as needed very quickly and accurately, even while on the go. The crown is threaded well and when screwed down locs in solid without needing to be overly tightened.
The lumibrite as usual is done perfectly and holds a superb charge. I can wear the watch through the entire night into the morning and am able to read the dial easily throughout the night in the dark, after a full day charging.
The bracelet is adequate, nothing spectacular but it does the job, is comfortable to wear and can be adjusted to fit most wrists.
The only detractor to this would be the pressed clasp, not milled, and that it still uses collar and pins in it, meaning resizing can be a challenge if you don't have the right tools.
Overall though this does not stop this from being an absolutely stunning watch, Seiko have knocked it out of the park here.
