G-Shock has unsurprisingly continued to ride the wave of its CasiOak, this time encasing it and its bracelet entirely in stainless steel. In fact, G-Shock went out on a limb and created three brand new all-metal offerings: an all-steel model, a black ion-plated model; and a rose gold, ion-plated model. All three are as epic as you can imagine, with these new introductions definitely opening the door for some more iterations in the near future.

Tried and tested, G-Shock watches range. More so than that, the CasiOak has solidified its position as one of the most interesting affordable watches you can buy, period.

And now, in these latest all-metal watches, what you get is a dash of luxury that was before now, only attainable by way of aftermarket customisation (which there has been a lot of with the CasiOak).

The GMB2100D-1A, GMB2100BD-1A and GMB2100GD-5A models (steel, black plated and rose gold plated, respectively), all continue to embody the CasiOak's iconic design virtues. The octagonal bezel, check. Clear and informative part-digital part-analogue dial, check. Balanced proportions, check. Wearable size, check. All of the bells and whistles that come with owning a modern 21st century G-Shock, check and check.

Of the three my pick is definitely that full steel model. I love the cool look of its case and bracelet, complimented by the industrial-coloured look of the dial.

The GMB2100BD-1A black ion-plated model is an interesting take, too. But I think it edges too close to a mirror image of a watch that it obviously draws inspiration from. My sentiments only, of course.

And then the all-out, balls-to-the-wall rose gold ion plated model, reference GMB2100GD-5A. Very show-boaty, very loud but still very much in keeping with the design ethos that has given the G-Shock CasiOak watch such a cult following.

The fact that G-Shock has used metal in lieu of the plastic used in the original models shouldn't come as a shock. In fact, this was definitely a model that was close on the horizon for the brand, and it's a welcomed addition to a family of watches that keeps on getting better and better.
