A Beautiful Re-Issue of an Absolute Classic

To most, the main attraction of The Pogue is going to be its beautiful bright yellow sunburst dial. It is wonderfully rich, though toned down by the black translucent sub-dials that serve as pass-throughs for sunlight that actually serve as solar panels which power the watch.
The sword-style hands and thick, LumiBrite-filled, and there is a date window at 4:15, which may play on some people's minds as it can detract from the watch's symmetry. Its functions are well-integrated into the existing tri-register layout, including a power reserve indicator that doubles up as a chronograph minutes totaliser.
The diameter and thickness are on the larger side, measuring in at 41.4mm across and 13mm in height. This is a sports watch, so lug-to-lug is kept at a fairly tame 45.9mm that should suit most wrist sizes. The pushers and crown match the case in its steel construction, while the bezel insert is bi-colour and made of aluminium. Its red and blue colour scheme is magnificent.
The three-link bracelet matches the mostly brushed look of the case, and is a pretty standard three-link format, finished in a small push-button folding clasp with two holes of microadjust. The fact that there is only two holes for microadjustment is my only gripe here, as I have found it hard to get a perfect fit. The 21mm lug width might narrow your search for an after-market band, but that's no biggie in my opinion, as it looks amazing with the standard bracelet.
To a watch nerd like myself, watches like this Pogue revival are pretty damn cool, and if you don't know the history, it's a fun read with a simple Google search.

Gorgeous watch

As a Seiko tragic, I love this more than any in my collection (don't tell the others) - it is a great mix of colours (compared to my usual team of black faced divers), it hasnt been off my wrist, great weight, great detailing, the gold/yellow just pops and makes me happy. Sure it could have a screw down crown, the date box could be a little easier to read, but the trouble free nature of the solar charge, the build quality - perfect for the price and a lovely addition to the collection.
